There are a number of ways this can be done but the principles are; the reasons must be genuine, the repayment/settlement must be affordable. With this type of negotiation we’ve already achieved over £70,000,000 of unaffordable debt written off for our clients.
Don’t want to move. Worried bout repaying the mortgage in full –
We’ve spoken to 1000s of people who have an interest only mortgage on their home, are in negative equity and are really worried about being able to repay the debt. Unfortunately banks don’t write off debt in this situation however we’ve successfully negotiated new deals with lenders, often reducing the interest rate, converting some or all of the mortgage onto repayment, and amending the term to fit our clients’ affordability.
With either of the above situations the first step is a “Case Review”. Here we look into your mortgage, complete affordability checks, and look at how best you can present yourself to your lender should you choose to do so. We’ll recommend the best way of dealing with the problem based on your individual circumstances.
After the case review has been carried out you will receive a list of our recommended options specific to you. In some cases a mortgage was mis-sold and our clients’ are entitled to redress (compensation); we’ll refer you to the appropriate solicitor to process this type of claim if applicable.
